Climate change has increasingly affected livestock farmers in NTB, particularly in the Pringgasela District, including the villages of Pringgasela and Pengadangan. Changes in temperature, rainfall patterns, and prolonged dry seasons are among the noticeable impacts. During extended dry seasons, which is one of the consequences of climate change experienced by farmers, they encounter difficulties in meeting the nutritional needs of their livestock.
The prolonged dry periods lead to the drying up of green pastures, exacerbating the scarcity of available animal feed. This situation prompts farmers in Pringgasela and Pengadangan to search for livestock feed in greener areas unaffected by climate change, even though the available feed cannot adequately fulfill the nutritional requirements. The limited availability of feed causes livestock to become emaciated, making them more susceptible to diseases and reducing their productivity. This, in turn, affects the market value of the livestock.
